AboutWho We Are
Springhall British School,
A warm welcome to the website of Springhall British School, Abuja. We hope these pages convey something of the vibrant atmosphere of our lively community of learners, and a School dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education and educational opportunities for every pupil.
Our staff and pupils share an enthusiasm, joy and love of learning, combined with a strong sense of moral values, and a purpose to develop
each pupil’s talents to benefit both themselves and the wider world we all share.
The School’s high quality education and pastoral care provides for children from the age of 9 months to 11 years. The attractive school campus has well-equipped classrooms with modern resources for all year groups. The School follows the English National Curriculum, adapted as suitable to our location in the heart of one of the major capital cities of West Africa. We teach the Early Years Foundation Programme up to 5 years, and then all subjects of the Key Stage One and Two curricula.
The core academic subjects are English, Mathematics and Science. French is also taught for all pupils from Early Years to Year 6 (age 11), and each Early Years Class has their own additional dedicated French teacher. Every child has access to a rich co-curricular programme of clubs and activities, including sport, music, drama, the arts, and charitable support. Our holistic approach to learning encourages the development of life skills increasingly important to future leaders, in all walks of life, in the 21st Century: such as independent enquiry, critical thinking, creativity, resilience, adaptability, team work, and confidence in presentations, public-speaking and the performing arts. A progressive Springhall education draws and innovates from the very best
in international education, and inspires pupils to pursue challenging aspirational goals.
Our pupils are the best ambassadors for our School. Prospective parents are most welcome to observe this for themselves, so if you would like to pay a visit, do please come and see for yourself a day in the life of Springhall British School. I look forward to meeting you.
We Are Providing an Environment for Our Students to Grow & Excel
Our teaching staff are professional, well-qualified and genuinely care about the needs of the pupil. The teachers assess children regularly and supportive measures are put in place to ensure that no child is left behind. Parents are kept informed of pupil progress through regular parent teacher meetings. We have an excellent pupil-teacher ratio in all classes to allow your child to reach their full potential.
Homework is set regularly and children are expected to improve and reflect on their learning at all times. A rich and diverse extra- curricular program is offered every day to encourage to become well-rounded and to develop healthy life-long interests.
Children may be enrolled at any time during the academic year. The admission staff will assist you with the enrolment process and individual interviews are used to ensure that your child is placed in the most appropriate class to ensure a smooth transition into our friendly community.

A Message From
Our Head Teacher
One of the most important requirements of a school concerns the safety and well-being of your children. You entrust the school with the care of your children and it is only correct that we aim to meet your expectations in this regard. I wish to highlight your attention to two areas that need to be addressed as it overlaps between the school monitoring safety and you as parents monitoring safety.
