Welcome to Year 4
Here is what you Need to know About Our Class
Teaching your child is a tremendous responsibility we are committed to and will do our very best to ensure that your child enjoys a safe and stimulating educational environment.
Establishing good classroom discipline is essential to each child’s success, confidence and well-being. Every child should feel that the classroom environment is safe and secure, free from all threats of physical or emotional harm.
In addition, it is important that each child learns to develop self-discipline and good habits to resolve conflicts peacefully and to think independently. For these reasons and more, during the first few weeks, as the children and I are getting to know one another, they will be responsible for establishing and agreeing on class rules, actions taken and consequences that will obtain in the classroom throughout the year.
Our classroom and whole school discipline structure includes ‘Praise’. Children need praise to develop their self-esteem and self-worth. Therefore, each week I will select a ‘Star of the Week’.
We believe that Parent-Teacher Partnership is essential for maximum school success and this is strengthened through effective communication
Through our partnership, we will ensure that our common goal to have your child reach his/her full potential will be realized.
It is going to be a great year – we can feel it in our bones – get ready for success and smiles
